Max Planck ETH Center for Learning Systems

The Max Planck ETH Center for Learning Systems (CLS) addresses cross-disciplinary research questions in the design and analysis of natural and human-made learning systems. The excellent engineering competencies of the faculty and research team members at the ETH Zurich in Switzerland ideally complement the natural sciences and computer science competencies at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, Tubingen/Stuttgart in Germany. We want to build a lighthouse for machine learning and modern artificial intelligence in Europe. The cooperation spans all levels, from leading experts at the senior scientist level to junior scientists obtaining their PhD. Around 50 faculty members are engaged at CLS, drawn from professors at ETH Zurich, directors and group leaders from the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, and selected faculty from external partners.
