McGill Baja Racing

McGill Baja is a team comprised of over fifty engineering students. Our mission is simple: to design, build, test and finally race a single-seat off-road prototype vehicle. With a history dating back to 1984, we are one of the longest running design teams at McGill. Every year, an entirely new vehicle is designed and built, carrying forward the successes of the previous design. Nearly all the components of the car are designed and built by students. Each year, the team competes against over 100 universities from around the world in several competitions across Canada and the United States. The competitions are sponsored by SAE International (Society of Automotive Engineers) and are attended by thousands of engineering students, hundreds of industry professionals and numerous spectators. The vehicles are scrutinized and judged by automotive experts based on their design, craftsmanship, and engineering.
