Melabev is a unique non-profit organization in Israel that provides a range of high-quality services in the community for individuals who are living with various forms of dementia. ABOUT MELABEV About 150,000 people in Israel live with dementia and Alzheimers. As life expectancy increases, these numbers are expected to increase. In the coming decade, the number of people with dementia is expected to double. Melabev provides community care for people living with dementia and Alzheimers. Melabev was established by the late Professor Arnold Rosin, who for years ran the geriatric department at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, and Leah Abramowitz, MSW. Together they identified the unmet needs of people with dementia and Alzheimers. They subsequently formulated a unique professional method of treating people with dementia in the community.
