Our History - In 1980, Leon Melde started Melde Construction Company out of the back of his pick-up truck. As the architecture scene in Austin began to emerge, Melde locked arms with many nationally recognized firms at the front lines of the design frontier. In 2016, Bernie and Leslie Calcote became the proud new owners of the company after coming to work for Melde in 2008. Bernie and Leslie are still great friends with Leon and his wife Karla, who now live on Lake LBJ enjoying their retirement
