The Melki Groups journey began in 1980, with founder, Thiru Govender, purchasing a single truck and using his financial acumen, coupled with unwavering determination, to create a highly successful plant hire company geared to servicing South Africas civil construction industry. Outstanding business growth led to company diversification, with the plant hire enterprise expanding to include civil construction, road surfacing, property development and, more recently, the exploration of business opportunities in Southern Africa. These new opportunities gave effect to further diversification and the inclusion of mining and energy in the Groups business portfolio.
