Membertou First Nation

Membertou is an urban Mikmaw community surrounded by 100,000 people in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. Membertou has close to 1,500 members and belongs to the greater tribal group of the Mikmaw Nation. It is one of five Mikmaw communities within the tribal district of Unamaki (Cape Breton). In December of 2001, Membertou became the first Indigenous Government in Canada to achieve ISO 9001 certification. Membertou is committed to creating and enhancing business relationships between Membertou and the Canadian and international business community.
