MENSA International was founded in 1946, as the largest and oldest global high IQ society in the world. MENSA is derived from the Latin word which means Table, emphasizing round-table society where ethnicity, color, nationality, age, education, and social background are all completely irrelevant. Our mission is to identify and support individuals with high intellectual potential and encourage them to make a positive impact on society. Our membership is open to individuals who score in the top 2% of the population on a recognized intelligence test. Currently, there are around 150,000 Mensan in roughly 90 countries throughout the world.
