The Mercury Theatre Colchester is the most active producing theatre in the East of England, and is a vital centre of excellence in the Easts growing creative economy. We exist to put theatre at the heart of the cultural life of the community we serve and to make work in Colchester that reaches audiences and generates critical attention regionally and nationally. Rooted in our local community the theatre touches over 130,000 people in Colchester and the surrounding area each year through the vibrant and broad programme we stage across two auditoria, and through community education partnerships.
