Metalurgica Kondak was founded in 1960 by the couple Jose and Sofia Kondak. The founders started in the area with a bench lathe providing services to companies in the region. The year 1974 marks the entry into the automotive and agricultural areas, together with the founding of the new headquarters, located in the Sao Geraldo neighborhood, in Porto Alegre. To meet a growing demand, the company established its own headquarters in 1988, located on Rua Ouro Preto, with an area of 500 m2.
