Meydan TV

Meydan TV is an independent, non-partisan platform that gives voice to ordinary people connected with Azerbaijan. It draws upon the collaboration of talented Azerbaijani journalists, human rights activists, writers, bloggers and intellectuals. Meydan translates into town square in Azerbaijani, symbolic of the collective struggle for freedom of speech in the region. The iconography of this term embodies the public spaces have been taken away from the people - from the right to assemble in Freedom Square - to numerous platforms for creative minds to openly express their ideas. The NGO seeks to inspire freedom of expression, stimulate public debate and enrich the cultural environment in Azerbaijan.
