Mfone Co.,Ltd Also known as Camshin was established in Cambodia since 1993, and it is originally a joint venture between Shin Satellite PLC, Thailand and The Ministry of Post and Telecommunication (MPTC). In the beginning, the company provided only fixed phone wireless local loop (WLL) technology, which could ensure rapid deployment of basic telephone service hence a telephone could be installed within 24 hours of a request. On 4 March 1997, the Royal Government of Cambodia extended the companys licence from 15 to 35 years and allowed Shinawatra International (Currently Thaicom PLC) to holding 51% and Asia Mobile holding 49% of the companys shares. On 23 June 1997, the company was also granted the license for the provision of wireless telecommunications system and services.
