When we visit Debert we feel the spirit of our ancestors and our pride in ourselves, and our history is renewed and strengthened. It is this sense of renewal and strength that we want for our people.... MDCC Elders Advisory Council Mikmawey Debert Cultural Centre (MDCC) is a charitable, not-for-profit First Nations organization mandated by all thirteen Nova Scotia Mikmaw Chiefs. MDCC is dedicated to sharing, protecting and exploring the stories and lives of the Mikmaq, past and present. Once built, MDCC will be an experiential cultural centre in Debert, Nova Scotia, providing imaginative and meaningful year-round programming for visitors of all ages.
