Brief History of Mindanao Medical Foundation College The MATS College of Technology started its humble beginnings in 1979 as a Maritime Education and Technological institute. Located at the eastern part of Davao City, covering the areas of Agdao, Buhangin, Inter land second district, Panabo up to Davao Del Norte Hence, the Vision, and Mission of MATS College of Technology were purely technological. It was during that time that there were intense demands in the community for technical and paramedical courses which necessitated the offering of such courses . Later in the same year 1979, MATS College of Technology offered Dental Medicine and in the subsequent year the College of Optometry. As the years went by, other courses were introduced to cater to the health needs of the community, such as BS in Nursing, Pharmacy, medical Technology, Physical Therapy and Midwifery.
