MINITEC has its origins in former KTS (Korf Tecnologia Siderurgica Ltda. Korf Steelmaking Technology Ltd), a steel engineering company created in 1982 by the Korf group, with the goal of modernizing recently-acquired Companhia Siderurgica Pains (Pains Steel Company - Pains, today Gerdau Divinopolis). With the success of the solutions developed for the Divinopolis plant, KTS began selling solutions to clients beyond the Korf group, especially in India, where the company was well accepted.
