News West Publishing, a division of Brehm Communications, purchased the Mohave Valley News in Bullhead City, Ariz., from Western Newspapers in 1991. At the time, News West published the Booster Advertiser, a twice-weekly classified advertising product, while Western published the Valley News thrice weekly. The competing publications were both looking at going daily. Western decided to sell and News West became the publisher of the Valley News in June, 1991. A fourth day of publication was added, followed by a fifth day in 1992. The name of the newspaper was changed at that time to the Mohave Valley Daily News. In July, 1994, a sixth day was added to the newly redesigned publication. New computers, color use, pagination and other advances in publishing technology were incorporated into the production of the six-day daily throughout the remainder of the 1990s.
