Monash Human Power

Monash Human Power (MHP) is a student run organisation based at Monash University, Clayton. The teams mission is to design and build a safe, fast and efficient human powered vehicle (HPV). A HPV is essentially a recumbent bicycle enclosed within an aerodynamic fairing, intended to reduce the air resistance to allow the cyclist to travel at incredible speeds along a straight track. The teams ultimate goal is to compete in the International Human Power Vehicle competition held in Battle Mountain, Nevada, USA and claim the top speed land record for a human powered vehicle. Founded in 2014 by the wind tunnel management of Monash University, in 2016 MHP moved to a larger and more interdisciplinary team of students from Engineering, Industrial Design, Business and Science.
