Monivent is a young medtech startup based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Monivent aim to increase patient safety for newborn babies requiring help to start breathing at birth. 3-6% of all newborns require manual ventilation at birth, when air is manually forced down the babys lungs using different manual ventilation equipment. Suboptimal treatment, using too little or too much air, may cause brain damage or chronic lung injury. Yet there are no good tools available to ensure that an effective but still gentle treatment is given. Monivent Neo100 is a non-invasive monitoring device measuring the airflow given to the baby. Instant feedback throughout the ventilation enables the caregiver to make simple adjustments to ensure a better treatment within recommended guidelines.
