MOOC for Russia (in Russian our project is called ) is a non-profit project that aims to raise awareness about availability and benefits of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) among Russian students and train them to use new self-education tools to ready themselves for global knowledge-based economy. What are our goals? - raise awareness among Russian students and educators about high-quality free online courses and the benefits one gets from using them; - encourage self-education as a way for students to better prepare themselves for the new, quickly changing, knowledge-based economy; - plant a mutual support network for self-educating students by connecting students with various levels of experience and educators in one self-sustaining community; - provide an alternative view on education as not limited to local institutions and traditional university study programs; - Expand access to modern education in social science; - Enhance the curriculum of Russian university...
