Mountain Road School

Mountain Road School is a small rural progressive independent school near New Lebanon, NY, offering a full- or partial-day Preschool program (ages 3-5), a full- or partial-day Kindergarten, and Grades 1-8. The class configurations vary from year to year depending on enrollment. Small class sizes and multi-age groupings form the foundation of the schools educational philosophy. Upon that foundation, Mountain Road builds a community that embodies a culture of compassion, inspires critical and creative thinking, learns and teaches responsively through emergent curriculum, develops resilience by cultivating a clear and steady approach to challenges, and nourishes the reciprocity between the human and natural worlds.
