Moynihan Lumber

Moynihan Lumber first opened its door in North Reading on October 1, 1959, although the Moynihan Family has been involved in the lumber business dating back to the last century. The late uncle of the current owners actually delivered lumber via horse-drawn wagon in the early 1920s. In 1959, Moynihan Lumber occupied three wooden buildings on four acres located on a dirt road just off Chestnut Street. In less than four decades, the company has grown to occupy eight buildings and encompasses almost 13-acres. In August of 1986, the company expanded into Beverly and occupies a four acre site in the downtown area at the corner of Bridge and River Street-a spot thats been home to lumberyards for over 120 years. In November of 1995, the company expanded again into New Hampshire and occupies a 20-acre site in Plaistow. In 2005, Moynihan Lumber of Beverly added a second floor Kitchen Cabinetry and Door and Window Showroom. The second floor features 25 kitchens on display just as they w...
