Museo degli Innocenti

Museum of the Innocenti is composed of 3 sections: THE HOSPITAL GALLERY This is a collection of about fifty works, paintings for the most part, created between the 14th and 18th centuries. The works exhibited make up a part of the Institutes artistic heritage gathered over the course of the centuries either by direct commission or through inheritance or patronage. ARCHIVES Conserved here is a vast collection of documents collected without interruption from the 14th century to the 20th, unique in its kind as to chronological completeness and variety of contents. It is witness to the old Spedale, beginning at its construction through the addition of the numerous facilities that have been joined to it over the centuries. CHILDRENS WORKSHOP Space devoted to the little ones, which renews and updates the tradition of hospitality of the ancient Spedale degli Innocenti.
