Mutera Global Healing

Mutera Global Healing has a mission to eradicate child sexual violence through prevention, healing, and justice. Mutera envisions a society where every child is safe and free from sexual assault. Mutera has supported hundreds of survivorsfemale and male, from ages 4 to 90to provide counseling, legal advocacy, and medical services in the Rukungiri and Kanungu districts in Southwest Uganda. Furthermore, our work now has perpetrators being tried and convicted for the first time ever, protecting future children from such grievous assault. More than sixty assailants are currently serving time in prison, including the grandfather, who received a thirty-two-year sentence, which broke local records as well as custom that had long overlooked meting out punishment for these violent men.
