Myrtle Point School District

Myrtle Point School District is a K-12 public school serving approximately 675 students in a coastal rural community on the Southern Oregon coast. Myrtle Points economy is based largely on agriculture, forest product and tourism mostly related to outdoor recreation. The city has also been the home of the Coos County Fair for nearly 100 years. During the 60s and 70s, Myrtle Point School District was comprised of several outlying elementray schools in the communities of Arago, Bridge, Broadbent, Dora and Sitkum. Reductions in student populations and funding have forced the closure of these rural schools. Facilities now located within the city limits include an elementary school with grades kindergarten through six and a Junior/Senior high school serving grades seven through twelve.
