The National Disaster Management Center INDMC) of the Maldives was established in December 2005 with the mandate to coordinate all Disaster Management activities in the Maldives. Initially tasked with managing the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, the organization has broadened its work into preparedness, risk reduction and response coordination
