About Us

National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) coordinates a consistent national approach for internationally educated nurses (IENs) seeking registration/licensure to practise in Canadian jurisdictions. This includes: Registered Nurses (RNs); Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs); Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) in Ontario; and, Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs) Functionally, the foundational work to bring the organization to a point of incorporation began in 2009. NNAS officially incorporated June 2012 and is a national body of member nurse regulatory bodies. From its beginnings, NNAS members developed a harmonized approach to the initial assessment of internationally educated nurses (IENs).
