The National Tobacco Administration (NTA) was created on 24 July 1987 by virtue of Executive Order (E.O.) No. 245 in pursuit of the policy of the State to promote the development of the tobacco industry and to improve the quality of life of all those who depend upon the industry as a source of livelihood, especially the tobacco farmers.
