National Water Resources Authority

The mission of National Water Resources Authority (NWRA) is to manage the nations water resources on a sustainable basis, to ensure satisfaction of basic water needs by all but especially by the poor, and to establish a system of water allocation that is fair, yet flexible for meeting varying needs of economically and demographically dynamic sectors. NWRA is a knowledge-based organization where a team of dedicated and trained professional has committed itself to acquiring and disseminating knowledge on natural, social and economic aspects of water. This knowledge provides basis for devising water policies and plans for achieving the above objectives. We at NWRA recognize that technical knowledge is only one input into water resources management, which is essentially a peoples oriented process. Therefore, our guiding paradigm is that of Co-management of water resources whereby we look forwards to forging partnership with the stakeholders and communities to manage water resources
