NESC Ireland

The National Economic & Social Council advises the Taoiseach and Government on strategic policy issues relating to sustainable economic, social and environmental development in Ireland. It is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary year, which will culminate in a full-day, in-person conference in the Printworks, Dublin Castle, on 23rd November 2023. Established in November 1973, NESC has published reports on a wide range of areas including general economic and social policy, industrial policy, agriculture and rural development, housing, education, public services, the welfare system, well-being, Ireland in the European Union, climate change and wind energy.
