New Jersey Youth Corps of Phillipsburg

NJYC offers academic instruction, work experience, and personal/career counseling - ultimately leading to youth empowerment. We work intensely with each individual, addressing needs equitably while developing a familial group dynamic. Many of our youth come away from their experience feeling like part of an extended family - and they stay connected with us for years! We provide: ACADEMICS Our staff designs individual education plans for each youth. Corpsmembers spend half their time in classes geared to helping them earn an HSE (High School Equivalency). In class, they work in large and small groups and receive individual assistance as necessary. Instruction is also incorporated into their community-based Service Learning projects. WORK EXPERIENCE/SERVICE LEARNING Our Corpsmembers participate in community-based Service Learning Projects.
