The US gave up its market leading position to Asia when the principal drivers for battery technology were cost and size/weight, Chinese made iPhones/iPads drove the economies of scale that made China the worlds battery source. With the explosive growth of battery storage needs in both EVs & Stationary Storage, battery manufacturing is moving back to the USA - sourcing and processing raw materials to feed those factories need to be US sourced as well. In addition there are multiple Green and Greener technologies that are critical to the Generation, Storage and Power Transfer industries...
