At Nirantar, we promote transformatory formal and non-formal learning processes which enable girls and women from marginalised communities to better understand and address their realities. For us, gender is an identity; a way of being and seeing that includes other social dimensions, particularly those of caste, sexuality, religion, class and ethnicity. Nirantar also works at the community-level and undertakes research and advocacy, particularly on critical issues which need greater attention from the State as well as civil society.
