The journey to end poverty for good begins with a child Obelco stands for BELgian COlombian wOrk for child well-being, and is a Belgian nonprofit organization, without political, religious or governmental ties, founded in 1973 to support Colombian children and teenagers in need. Active for almost 50 years on Colombian ground, we have been striving for a country where all children can develop their creativity, and where they get opportunities to learn and make it on their own when entering adulthood. The main objective is to offer new and better perspectives for children and teenagers living in the poorest conditions in Colombia, by implementing and supporting sustainable projects that fundamentally change their living conditions. Our mission: Contributing to reducing poverty and discrimination in Colombia, by sustainably reintegrating children and vulnerable young people at a family and socio-economical level
