Ocean University of Sri Lanka was established by parliament of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka under the act no 31 of 2014 To, (a) Provide for University education in the fields of Fisheries, Marine sciences, Maritime technology and Allied fields; (b) Offer vocational and technical courses of study Relating to fisheries and allied fields in order to Cater to the manpower needs in any areas. (c) Disseminate knowledge relating to fisheries, marine and maritime sectors among persons who are Engaged in fisheries and allied fields.
