Oceano Fresco is a sustainable seafood company using innovative aquaculture techniques to grow high-quality bivalve species. At Oceano Fresco, we believe it is possible to regenerate nature by changing the way we eat and the way we farm. We farm only native European clams, starting with V. corrugata and R. decussatus, currently in decline and threatened by exotic and invasive species, but highly sought-after. We believe our clams are among the most sustainable, naturally healthy and tasty foods available anywhere in the world. With our vertically integrated operations, we can farm in a sustainable and traceable way. First, our clams are bred in the hatchery at our state-of-the-art BioMarine Center (Nazare, Portugal). Then they go to the worlds first open-sea clam farm (off the coast of Lagos, Portugal) to be fed with naturally available microalgae and grow to adulthood.
