Ohio Department of Veterans Services

The Ohio Department of Veterans Services (ODVS) is a cabinet agency that works to actively identify, connect with and advocate for Ohios veterans and their families. ODVS partners with county veteran service commissions, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and veterans service organizations, in order to serve those who have served. Priorities include; caring for Ohios wartime heroes and connecting veterans with jobs, education, benefits and services. Some of ODVSs major components include: Operating the Ohio Veterans Homes in Sandusky and Georgetown which are open to Ohio-resident veterans who served in periods of armed conflicts. Building relationships with Ohio employers and providing training to improve processes for hiring and retaining veterans. Providing training and oversight to the 88 County Veteran Service Offices (CVSOs).
