oikos St. Gallen is a leading student-driven organisation for sustainability in economics and management at the University of St. Gallen. oikos St. Gallen is the founding chapter of the oikos international network, which has spread to over 50 countries since 1987. Currently, oikos St. Gallen counts over 70 active members turning ideas into actions through 9 projects. The organization drives financial, social and environmental sustainability in a variety of fields ranging from food blogs to fashion, finance and more. The goal is to show that profit, people and planet work together. In 2019, the Financial Times Special Report, Responsible Business Education, selected oikos St. Gallen as a best practice example for sustainability, ethics and purpose.
