On The Rise

On The Rise is a dynamic non-profit founded in 1995 and based in Cambridge, MA. It serves as a day program for homeless and formerly homeless women and trans/nonbinary individuals. We create a community where these individuals have the relationships, safety and resources they need to move out of homelessness. On The Rise was founded on the idea that dependable relationships catalyze healing and transformation. We engage with those most in need and support their initiative and strength as they move beyond crisis and discover new possibilities. Our Safe Haven Programs innovative approach has allowed us to reach marginalized individuals who are unable to make full use of other community programs, for reasons that may include their histories and present conditions. Our programmatic model is a long-term, relational approach that focuses on the whole person, knowing that being unhoused is just one thing an individual may be experiencing.
