It all started in 2002, when a group of student friends from the University of Cocody realized the high STI / HIV prevalence rate in a student environment. Out of 169 students received by the laboratory of the University of Cocody medical centre, 31% were seropositive and 86% had an STI. In reaction to this alarming situation, this group of university friends then decided to create a community-based organization called MESSI NGO (Student Movement for AIDS Awareness) and found international and local partners to support them in achieving this. of their objective, namely to contribute to the reduction of this prevalence rate in university campuses.
