The history of Otavan dates back to 1951. In 1991, the state enterprise Otavan Trebon was transformed into a private joint-stock company Otavan Trebon a.s. The companys clothing factory is located in the heart of southern Bohemia - in the town of Slavonice. The quality system CSN EN 9001-2009 introduced in clothing production enables the provision and fulfillment of all hygienic and safety requirements at work, as well as the quality assurance of products in accordance with European standards. Otavan is one of the few companies that specializes in the production of high quality protective workwear. In recent decades, the company has managed to become a large established manufacturer of workwear for employees of various professions and fields. In 2016, the Otavan WORKWEAR branch was opened in Prague, with a spacious showroom.
