Our Home Nakuru

Our Home Nakuru is a community-based organisation currently working to facilitate a progressive and inclusive Kenyan community in which the poorest and most vulnerable citizens work together to empower themselves and their whole community. OHNs mission is to provide a safe, secure homestead for Nakurus street children and orphans which also reaches out to address the medical, educational and political needs of the local community. Our ethos is to create a childrens home and community support network with a difference. Rather than just elevate orphans out of poverty and ignore the source of the issues, we tackle the issues head on to ensure they do not persist. The idea is that we emulate the make-up of a community, creating an intricate web of connections across the project whereby each individual is intricately linked to, depends on and supports all the others.
