OXIS Energy is developing a Lithium Sulfur battery chemistry that will revolutionize the rechargeable battery market. With a theoretical energy density 5 times greater than Li-ion, OXIS patented technology is light, safe and is suitable for a wide range of sectors, including aviation, aeronautical, defence and electric vehicles (buses, trucks and light commercial vehicles). Based at the Culham Science Centre in Oxfordshire, OXIS has been at the forefront of researching Li-S batteries since 2004 and has developed its unique technology around sulfur based cathode materials, highly stable electrolyte systems and lithium anodes.
