The Pennsylvania State Ethics Commissions core mission and guiding principle is that public office is a public trust. Any effort to realize personal financial gain through ones public office other than compensation provided by law is a violation of that trust. Throughout its history, the Ethics Commission has remained ever vigilant and steadfast in its mission of ensuring the publics confidence in state and local government. The Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission is an independent state agency charged with the responsibility of enforcing the Ethics Act and portions of Pennsylvanias Lobbying Disclosure Law.
