History Pacific Pulmonary Services (PPS) was founded in 1978 in Bakersfield, California, as Med-Mart, a full-service durable medical equipment (DME) company serving the Central Valley of California. In 1993, Braden Partners acquired Med-Mart. In 1996, the business was renamed Pacific Pulmonary Services and refocused to concentrate on home oxygen and respiratory medications equipment and services. This set the stage for the rapid growth of the company. In 2005, PPS expanded its respiratory services to include sleep therapy equipment and services. Today, PPS employs over 800 associates.
