Tom Anthony, the founders own Papouli, landed on Ellis Island in 1911, and like many Greek-borne immigrants he opened a restaurant. His Manhattan Cafe rose rapidly to legendary status, built upon the tradition of offering excellent food, with genuine hospitality, in a casually inviting atmosphere.
