California is home to the largest and most diverse State Park system in the country. With 280 state parks across the state including over 340 miles of coastline, 970 miles of lake and river frontage, 5,200 miles of trails, and more than 11,000 known prehistoric and historic archaeological sites these unique and special places contribute to the health and well-being of all who visit and are home to extraordinary biological diversity. Parks California was created to be a new model of public, private, and non-profit partnership. As the official statutory non-profit partner to California State Parks, working statewide, we are on a mission to make our state parks and public lands welcoming, inclusive and climate-resilient spaces.
