Building strong families for a peaceful community. Our vision: all families in Monterey County will have an opportunity to acquire the skills needed to develop a strong & healthy family. We offer 4 evidenced based programs to strengthen the family unit, improve & promote healthy development of youth: Strengthening Families Program teaches parents & children, ages 10-16, the tools, skills & strategies to build strong families in an 8 week class. Named the #1 prevention program out of 6,000 for long-term effects on substance use & misuse by The World Health Organization. T Over 4,000 parents & youth have participated since its inception in 2005. Building healthy family communication is crucial during these times to try to reduce substance abuse, aggressive behavior & the breakdown of the family unit.
