Penang Adventist Hospital

The Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH) is a Malaysian owned and operated company. It is part of an international Adventist network of some 600 non-for-profit hospitals, clinics and dispensaries worldwide. PAH is the first non-for-profit private hospital in Malaysia. It was established in 1924 by an American missionary doctor, Dr. J. Earl Gardner. From its humble beginnings as a free clinic, it has grown to become a tertiary healthcare institution equipped with 254 beds including 10 ICU beds, 9 HDU beds, and another 28 beds at the Adventist Oncology Centre. Today, the hospital is supported by 85 specialists and offers more than 25 specialisations using up-to-date medical equipment and facilities. A name associated with quality, PAH is the first hospital in the country to be accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI) in the year 2007 and joins the selected few to be accredited by the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) in the year 2002.
