Philippine International English School

The Philippine Intl. English School (PIES) in Fahaheel, Kuwait was an offshoot of the state visit of President Fidel V. Ramos to Kuwait in September 1997. In his meeting with His Highness, the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, President Ramos personally appealed to the Kuwait community to establish a Philippine school that will address the educational needs of the Filipino children based in Kuwait. The dream of having a Philippine school in Kuwait was realized when Ghazi Faisal Al Dabbous, the school owner solely funded its establishment. On 12 August 1998, the Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait, Shulan O. Primavera laid the first slab of marble to symbolize the establishment of the first-ever Philippine school in Kuwait at Fahaheel.
