Pillion offers paralegal and admin support services. Created in 2016, by the co-founders of national insurance law firm HBA Legal, on the basis that legal services encompasses many different tasks, not just legal work done by lawyers. Where appropriate, HBA Legal utilises Pillion people for suitable admin and paralegal tasks, allowing HBAs lawyers to focus on what they do best. The model ensures right resource, for the right task which therefore allows HBA Legal to offer clients innovative and very competitive fee structures compared with traditional law firms. Pillion is a hub of future legal talent. Pillion paralegals are typically law students at the University of Newcastle who gain real world experience while they study. Many Pillion paralegals have gone on to have legal careers with HBA Legal, either staying in Newcastle or venturing off to one of Australias capital cities.
