PIZZATO

Owned by Plinio Pizzato family, is located at the Vale dos Vinhedos, southern Brazil. Plinio is the grandson of Antonio Pizzato, an Italian immigrant who came to Bento Goncalves in 1875 from the Veneto region of Italy and brought with him the proud winegrowing tradition. He was a pioneer on on using VSP (Vertical Shoot Positioning) trellising in Serra Gaucha by the mid- 1980s for Merlot, Chardonnay, Tannat and Egiodola grapes. With a solid experience in grape-growing, the family established the winery in 1999 with the objective ofmaking world class estate grown and bottled wines from their own vineyards. Since its first ever made wine, a very successful Merlot that helped to fix this red varietal as the one with the best results in Brazil, the company is dedicated to make exclusively premium fine wines under its 3 brands, PIZZATO, FAUSTO and ALLUME.
